Debbie's School of Dance

Debbie Shrom

Founder & Artistic Director

Debbie has been teaching since 1976 when she opened Debbie’s School of Dance. A lifelong resident of Quarryville, Debbie Shrom began her dance career at Alicia Rush’s dance school. Dancing since the age of five, she has studied dance education with Dance Masters in New York City, completed course work at Franklin and Marshall College, and attended workshops with The Pennsylvania Ballet Company. Debbie has choreographed hundreds of dances over the years and currently serves as the Solanco High School musical choreographer. Debbie’s studio has established a reputation for quality dance, exciting choreography, professionalism in the field, and respect for others.

Tiffany Shrom

Assistant Artistic Director

Tiffany began at DSOD when she was three years old and now teaches advanced classes, coaches the competition team, and serves the greater vision at DSOD. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance from Slippery Rock University with a focus in performance and choreography. Upon graduation, she was a virtual member of the West Virginia Dance Company. Tiffany has performed at the Prima Theater, Koresh, Discovery Spotlight, and the Trust Performing Arts Center. Tiffany is now with LUNA Dance Company and EMME Dance Collective in addition to her work with DSOD.

Makenzie Wagner

Competition Team Co-Manager

Makenzie has been a dance instructor at Debbie’s School of Dance since 2015. She is a former student of the studio and is a competition team alumna. Her areas of expertise include beginner ballet, beginner tap, pre-jazz, pre-hip-hop, advanced lyrical, advanced jazz, and advanced contemporary. Makenzie currently serves as a coach for the Mini & Senior teams, as well as co-manager of the competition teams. Prior to teaching, she was a student helper for four years which sparked a passion for teaching. Outside of DSOD, Makenzie is certified in Cosmetology and enjoys spending time with her cats!

Kaitlyn Nolt

Instructor & Office Manager

Growing up in Quarryville, Kaitlyn Nolt began dancing at DSOD at age three and continued through high school. She focused on ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and pointe throughout her years dancing at DSOD.  She began assistant teaching from 2009 until 2017 when she began teaching pre ballet, beginner ballet, beginner tap, pre jazz, the adult class and coordinating the annual parade dances and float.  As of 2023, Kaitlyn will focus more on balancing her work at the family farm with her growing family, accounting work for various companies, and assisting behind the scenes with office work at DSOD.

Lizzie Ambrose

Instructor & Coach

Growing up in the small town of Willow Street, Lizzie found her love of dance at Willow Street Dance-Steps with Miss Lori. Over the years she had the privilege of dancing with many companies including, NetCo Dance Company, MK Tap, and PK Project. Additionally, she taught at Silver Spring Dance Conservatory, Class Act Dance Studio, and Laurel Ballet Company. In 2013, Lizzie founded Citiline Studio of Dance, LLC. For eight years, she and her team shared their passion for dance with many outstanding dancers. Sadly, due to Covid, she had to close the studio doors, but feels very blessed to be teaching at Debbie’s School of Dance. She loves to keep learning and growing so she can keep challenging her dancers.

Erica Hammer

Instructor & Coach

Erica studied dance at DSOD from age three until age 18. Her study at DSOD included taking ballet, tap, jazz, and hip-hop classes. Her love of dance continued beyond high school when she was hired as an instructor at DSOD. Since 2018, she has taught ballet, tap, jazz, and hip-hop from beginner to intermediate levels. Erica is a graduate of Solanco High School and the University of Delaware. She enjoys sharing her love of dance with the next generation of DSOD students.

Lindsay Brahl

Instructor & Coach

Lindsay began teaching at Debbie’s School of Dance in 2016. An alumna from West Chester University, she studied Theatre Performance with a minor in Dance. She is a member of the performing arts community as an actor and director. Lindsay has both directed and performed in various stage shows. She fell in love with performing at a young age as a dancer at DSOD. Her enthusiasm guides her teaching and she hopes to cultivate the love that she has for performing in her students at DSOD.
