Classes
Debbie's School of Dance offers the following classes on a yearly basis from September through June. Days, classes offered, and times are determined annually based on the number of enrolled students and instructor availability.

Adult Dance and Fitness
Ages 18 & Older
We currently offer an adult combination class including ballet, jazz, and exercise! Feel free to call the studio for more information. (Recital participation not required).
Ballet
Ages 5 & Older
Ballet is foundational for many dance styles. Students focus on the fundamentals of ballet technique and ballet terminology. Students also work on flexibility, proficiency of movement, muscle control, and musicality.
Contemporary
Ages 13 & Older
This style combines the controlled movement of ballet and the freedom and expression of modern dance. Students focus on releasing the body and dive deeper into the exploring floor work. Students must be enrolled in a concurrent ballet class.
Heels
Ages 18 & Older
This is a burlesque-style class based on building self-confidence, empowerment, and being yourself. Feel free to dress up and express yourself for this class! Bring extra shoes in case you decide to take the heels off. If you are new to the heels class, Tiffany suggests a thicker heel. This is offered on a pop-up basis so stay tuned!
Hip Hop
Ages 11 & Older
This style of dance is formulated from the African diaspora that was cultivated through street culture. This style of dance is performed to hip hop music where students focus on rhythm and elements of “jazz funk”. Students work on finding the release of the pelvis and drop into the floor.
Irish Tap
Ages 7 & Older
This style features low to the ground tap steps and intricate footwork with no arm movement. The student must be enrolled in a concurrent tap class or have prior tap training. (Currently not available for the 2023-2024 Season).
Jazz
Ages 9 & Older
This jazz technique class will focus on energy, rhythm, and traveling through space. Utilizing upbeat music, dancers work on increasing cardio fitness, flexibility, core strength and body isolations.
Lyrical Ballet
Ages 13 & Older
Lyrical is a fusion of different styles of dance with a strong foundation in ballet. Students focus on expressive movement quality that tells a story. Students must be enrolled in concurrent ballet and jazz classes.
Master Class Series
Ages Vary
This is a series of 90-minute opportunities to explore different styles of dance ranging from musical theater, to west African, to modern. There will be beginner and intermediate/advanced options for each style brought in by different instructors. Requirements of ability and age may change based on the individual teaching the class.
Pre-Ballet
Ages 3 & 4
This class is an introduction to the basics of ballet technique and ballet terminology. Students focus on stretching, motor skills, right and left discrimination, class etiquette, and following directions.
Pre-Hip Hip
Ages 7 & Older
This is an introduction to the basics of hip hop technique at a slower pace. Students focus on stretching, motor skills, right and left discrimination, class etiquette, and following directions.
Pre-Jazz
Ages 7 & 8
This class is an introduction to the basics of jazz technique at a slower pace. Students focus on stretching, motor skills, right and left discrimination, class etiquette, and following directions.
Skills and Drills
Ages 6-10
This class is designed to focus on stretching and strengthening, along with working on turns, leaps, and jumps!
Stretch & Flexibility
Ages Vary
We use a variety of stretching methods to deepen posture, build strength, and improve flexibility. Flexibility is important because it lessens the chance of injury, increases self-esteem, and improves dancing capabilities. (Currently not available for the 2023-2024 Season).
Tap
Ages 5 & Older
This class focuses on rhythmic footwork and musicality. Dancers utilize a strong core to develop intricate coordination.
Turns & Leaps
Ages 10 & Older
This technique class is designed to improve the overall ability of the student in various types of turns & leaps. The student will work to increase extensions and turn with more precision.
